Superficial Nothing..

Forget that title.. I was not able to blog these past weeks not because of lack of inspiration, time nor energy. Simply because, the PC got busted. 

One night, I was happily making a backup copy of Therion's huge collection of cute  and cuddly photos. The next morning, BOOM! No, the PC didn't blow up, one of the hard disks crashed for some reason. (The Boom part must be because I'm watching too much Entourage.. Blame Jeremy Piven.)

That particular morning was pretty frustrating. House problems + Lack of sleep + No Alantuts = Depression. Depressed that I am, I have no choice but to figure out the problem myself. Armed with Alan's instructions, I was determined to fix the PC no matter what. I took Therion to Mayel's house, bought the new hard disk and went home to play computer technician.

Alan said I should take photos, so that I can easily install the hard disk the way he did it. 

 Red, black, yellow wires.. WHAT??

I almost cried when I saw what's inside the beautiful, shiny, black CPU case.. After a lot of copying and tinkering, i finally got it right!

 

Or so I thought…

Boot Disk Error, BLEH! 

That night, I had to do some homework, and read the manuals. Until finally, with the help of some prayer (Lord, sana po gumana na ang PC, mabait naman ako nitong mga nakaraang araw.. ) the PC worked!  

Hah… Now all I had to do next was to install the OS, and all the programs that I need.. Good thing Alan was such a boy scout, he left a copy of those programs. A few hours later…

 

After I regain consciousness, (hehe) I sent Alan an IM to let him know how much I missed him bec. the Pc's been down for a few days. 

I'm proud of what I have accomplished. I'm no geek, nor technician, but i fixed the damn PC! As I've said : "This cookie never crumbles!" YAY!

And in my case, I got my Alantuts for backup.

 

Post "Deathly Hallows" News..

I'm still crazy about the last Harry Potter book. My cousin, Jan, gave the book to me as a present, and mine was a very special one. I'm the only one who has the Special Edition Deathly Hallows with a Smiley sticker on it.. and a poem too! Its worth a lot more than the one with JK Rowling's signature. Teehee..

Anyway, I got an email from Alan with this link:

 I know I'm not really clapping, but come on, Rowling herself said it: Dumbledore is gay. It's not impossible to believe, but i don't want to believe it. Dumbledore is my favorite character. Well, he still is despite the development. He's the uber cool, calm, intelligent wizard that everyone at the wizarding world is looking up to. I want to think of him as asexual. With all those stuff that was keeping him busy, like the quest, Hogwarts and the Voldemort thingy, I can't imagine him being interested in love, relationship or sex at all. And with that book that Rita Skeeter published, "The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore", she should have mentioned it there knowing how she plays. But come to think of it, there were hints. Like how Bathilda Bagshot mentioned that Grindewald and Dumbledore practically hit it off when they met. What a pretty couple huh? hehe. Well, Dumbledore is still my favorite no matter what. 

Speaking of favorites, I really like Molly Weasley. I really admire her and I can really relate to her character. Being a mom changes everything; whatever happens you always put your child/children first before yourself. And also, as JK rowling puts it, Molly's a woman who had dedicated herself to her family and that does not mean that she doesn't have a lot of other talents. That settles it, I'm gonna plan my next song and dance number in honor of Molly Weasley.. hehe.

On a lighter note, its good to know that there are things about the Harry Potter characters that are still being unfolded. There are actually a lot. JK Rowling can fill another book, (aww, wishful thinking).

My new home…

    At long last, I was able to secure a broadband service. I am enjoying the things that come with it. First of all, i get to see and talk to my husband through Skype, and to see him playing peekaboo with Therion is just priceless. Seeing Therion and talking to him means a lot to Alan. And I know it means more to Therion. He's  such a special kid, he needs his dad as much as he needs me. Plus, no more call card expenses for Alan and I will finally get a rest from stressing out on how to pay my humongous Globe bill.

    Also, I have been meaning to update my blog for a long time. I had this idea of a cookie blog lay-out. (anyone who knows me should have learned by now that I'm a cookie addict!)  One time, I got the chance to create one through photoshop. here's what its supposed to look like.

 

     You should have seen the  look on my face after i finished it. Yeah I know, it looks like one of those blog lay-outs a 12 year old could make. But I was pretty happy with it. However, I still don't have enough skills (ok, knowledge) to make it a real blog lay-out. Dreamweaver, html, whatever, is still beyond me! Its a good thing i got internet access at home now, I was able to dig my i.ph account. The Templates here are so cute and organized. I might just give up creating my own. hehe.. Pretty convenient for a mommie like me, eh? I'll just play around with it until I get the look I've been aiming at. Although the sad thing is,I'll have to start over. Goodbye old blog posts.
