Therion ..
Friday, April 3, 2009When Alan asked me almost 4 years ago what I wanted for my birthday, I aked for one thing I know would be impossible to get. I wanted a little version of him. When Therion came to our lives, I just can’t keep the smile off my face, knowing I got what I wanted. I got Therion, and he’s every bit like his dad. His smile, the naughty stuff he does and the resemblance is definitely there. He is also fascinated with the camera/photography, or “click click ” in his own little-boy-world. What makes me a lot more happier is that he got something from me too. He loves his crayons and cookies.
It does’nt matter that almost all the walls in our house has a little Therion Imprint, his drawings all over the place, knowing that everytime he gets up and draw at that wall, he learns something. Atleast I’ll get to paint it fresh again.
He just turned three years old and I can’t believe how he has grown too fast. Looking back at hundreds of photos my husband and I took of him since the day he was born, it reminded how proud I am to be a mom, specially of this little boy wonder.
Here are some of my favorite photos of him mad into a lovely slideshow from Photopeach :

Happy New Year!
Thursday, January 1, 2009I wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year! I want to start the New Year with a positive note, since lots of good things happened this 2008. Our family got to spend the Holidays together, which was the highlight of my year. It was a short four weeks, but we were able to make the most out of it. Therion really bonded with his dad, making a point to get a hug everyday, which is nice; while Alan spoiled me with all the pampering.
Taking Therion malling was a lot easier because i have Alan to carry him around when he’s tired, so we got to go more often than usual. Alan and I even get to go out on a date and he got to catch up with his former bandmates. Too bad, we were’nt able to take Therion to see his Ninong Macoy and Cha. I would be very delighted if Therion would be interested in taking up drum lessons in the future.
We were not able to take Therion to the beach like last time but he got to enjoy looking at his favorite animals at Island Cove’s Animal Island. There weren’t elephants or giraffes as he would like, but he enjoyed looking at the birds and the tiger, he even ran after a cub which was let out from its cage by the trainer for cleaning up; thinking it was just a big kitty.
Chasing after butterflies was his thing too, and I’m proud to say that he knows how to appreciate flowers/plants although he got scared of the tiny crocodile that i held; and he was screaming while Manong was taking my photo holding it. The place was ok, we were not able to explore the place much because Alan and Therion has the sniffles, but its a lot less expensive than Subic, to think we spent almost just 2/3 of what we paid for at Subic after staying for 3 days and its just
40 minutes away, nothing could beat that. Room service was a little off; when you order fish and chips, expect a few smelly dried fish and a handful of fries. The food served at the fishing village was great and the money spent was well worth it. Our attempt at dining on one of the floating cottages were’nt succesful though; the chairs were’nt comfy and it was’nt really childproof. Although the pool at Oceania was quite bigger, it wasn’t as fancy as White rock’s kiddie and adult pool that Therion really enjoyed swimming/playing at. We just spent an hour or two at the pool. Therion enjoyed himself, but we didn’t get to see that gleeful smile he had before when we took him to the beach. It would’ve been better if we were able to bring the whole family as originally planned. We would have had a lot more photos with us three together if there’s someone else to take it . Instead we just snapped photos of each other with Therion using our own cameras. Funny thing, someone forgot to bring a tripod.
We spent Christmas eve at home, and just being together made it more special.
Alan’s vacation was indeed short but sweet; I miss preparing breakfast for him and watching him enjoy playing with Therion. After he left, i picked up on my reading. I got to finish the Tales of the Beedle bard which was quite amusing; I would definitely read them to Therion, though its not quite as enjoyable reading Stephenie Meyer’s twilight saga. I might be a bit older than her target readers but the first three books made me look back at the time I was treasuring my Sweet Valley High Paperbacks. It has the same weird effect on me, i felt butterflies in my stomach while i wait for something i was really expecting to happen. In this case, the time Edward would make Bella a vampire. My heart broke when Jacob left on Eclipse, at the same time admiring him as a noble suitor who knows when to bow out. By the fourth book, i was addicted. like other Twilight fans/lovers, the books became my brand of heroin.
The first three being bittersweet, i wanted Breaking Dawn to finally tell me what wanted to know, to shed some light perhaps, or maybe give me that happy ending I wanted. Instead I was surprised at how twisty the plot was. Yes, they get to consumate their love on a furniture wrecking honeymoon, where she ended up getting bruises all over. I also pictured Bella, being made a vampire through a more intimate manner, with Edward gently biting her on the throat, a kiss of death. But intead she gets to be one with Edward injecting her with venom amidst blood sputtering from her mouth while their vampire child was tearing out her uterus. And this happens as Jacob looks nearby. Just like he said, its like being in a Goth version of a bad sitcom. I wasn’t entirely
disappointed, knowing what Meyer said , that she dreamt of the story before she wrote it. She could have written it the way we all like it to be, but I guess she stuck to her original plan.
I’m still hoping Midnight Sun would push through. I want to read the book at Edward’s perspective. Twelve Chapters were’nt enough for me, so I’m crossing my fingers Meyer would give everyone a chance to read it. Before i forget, there’s news that ABS-CBN will be producing a local version of Twilight in form of series. Thats funny, considering Rayver(??) and Shaina as Edward and Bella cracks me up. They’re just gonna spoil everything for the Twilight Fanatics. All the same, if they wouldnt do it, GMA would have, featuring Star Struck survivors, much to the delight of their fans. Mark and Jennilyn, anyone? or maybe they would give Ranier a break. hehe..
Painting time again for me, since i promised i would start accepting commissions again for custom chucks this month. Maybe one pair a week, depending on my creative mood. I’m going to take it easy though, Therion wants to spend a lot of time chit-chatting.
There are a lot of things to look forward to this year. I’m still focused on hoping for the best for my family. We might spend most of the year together finally and thats what Alan and I are looking forward for this coming year, 2009.
Cheers!
