Well, its been 2 years.
Tuesday, July 12, 2011I can’t believe that I haven’t blogged for “almost” 2 years. What have I been up to?
The end of 2009 was hectic. I was painting everyday to keep up with my etsy shop ( i think i did like, 5 sneakers a day) and at the same time, we were planning our travel to London to join my husband. Then, there was my sister Mariel’s wedding and my cousin Embo visiting from Australia. Well, we had to make the best out of the last few weeks we’ll be spending with our family. Having said that, I am glad we were able to.
When we finally got here in the UK, we took our time to settle, and I was overwhelmed with tons of things to do. Apart from needing to continue with the painting bit, I had to register Therion to the doctor’s/dentist, update his immunization, look for a nursery, go to routine check ups.. I found out that mums here really have their work cut out for them. Unlike in the Philippines we’re most mums practically raise their children with family/relatives, here it’s entirely different. I do not want to go into detail , but to cut it short, I had to take a break from painting
It was great to finally spend time together as a family; I am grateful that we had the opportunity to settle into a place where I know we can raise our son the best way we can. Alan took us to see places, he hasn’t been to before because he was waiting to share it with Therion and I. An added bonus was seeing Alan’s siblings and Therion being able to spend time with his cousins. We maybe living at both ends of London (being us at the West part and them in the East), but we do make a point to see them as much as we can. Besides, Therion loves train rides.
I spent time learning how to cook “better” and bake. Alan encouraged my interest in photography as well. At Therion’s nursery, I hang out with the kids and I was known as the “lady who makes cool things”. I was a regular at the arts and crafts table. A little girl thought I was a teacher and that I live in the nursery. :p The head teacher once told me that I should consider working at a school setting.. we’ll see.
Fast forward to the present day; its Therion’s last week in nursery school and he is going to a “big school” this September. He’s going to spend most of the day there (9am-3pm), so I will find more time to do things for myself. time but I can’t say that I won’t miss being with my little boy wonder. I’d probably get very lonely the first few days… but, I am excited to get the “me” time so I will be taking out the paint bottles one by one and set up shop once again.

Important dates…
Monday, August 17, 2009I’m preparing some documents today and I decide to make things easy and make a list of everything I need to organize. I came across to something that requires me to recall every important (special) dates during the course of our (Alan and I ) relationship. I hope i remember everything right! Here it goes:
July 19, 2004 - 36th floor , PHILAM Life Bldg. Makati City Phils - The first time Alan and I met. We were able to talk a bit ( although seated far away from each other. I also got lost that day..
July 21, 2004 - The first time we travelled home together since were both from Las Pinas. The commute took us almost 3 hours (and a stiff neck for me, haha).
July 31, 2004 - Our first friendly movie date. Originally planned to watch XMen with a group of friends, but ended up watching Along Came Polly after dinner at Popeye’s ( I miss their chicken and biscuit!) . I was wearing flip-flops, can’t forget that.
August 23, 2004 - Our happy moment.
hehe.. from that day on wards we forgot the “no dating co-employees” rule.
March 21, 2005 - Watched Avril Lavigne’s concert at the Fort.
July 2, 2005 - I received the gift that I was asking for my 24th birthday; we learned that we’re pregnant!
August 18, 2005 - Therion’s first ultrasound. He looked like a peanut with little hands and feet; also the first time I saw Alan teary-eyed..
October, 2005 - I moved in to live with him.
December 2, 2005 - We learned that our little peanut (AKA Benny) is a boy.
March 17, 2006 , midnight, LPDH - Our little Therion was born (natural birth).
May 2, 2006 - Haha, I’m not sure if Alan will remember this!
March 2, 2007 - He left for London.
March 8, 2008 - He came back!
March 17, 2008 - We celebrated Therion’s 2nd birthday at MOA, after visiting Manila Ocean Park
March 28, 2008 - Our civil wedding.
March 31- April 2, 2008 - Our first family out of town vacation at Whiterock Resort, Subic.
April 6, 2008 - His flight back to London
November 28, 2008 - He went back for us!
December 2008 - Therion’s 2nd Christmas with his dad.
December 28, 2008 - His flight back to London part two.
March 28, 2009 - Our first anniversary as a married couple and we weren’t able to spend it together
… on August 23, it will be our 5th anniversary as Alantuts and Ayintuts. Hopefully we’ll be able to make more memories together as a family soon!
Now back to organizing stuff…
paintings and time travelling….
Saturday, August 8, 2009No, I did’nt travel through time. But apparently Eric Bana did, on his latest movie The Time Traveller’s wife (with Rachel McAdams). I can’t believe they finally made Audrey Niffenegger’s novel into a movie, I’m psyched!
The first time i picked up a copy of the book (way back 2003), i was just intrigued by the title. It turned out to be a good read that I actually ditched my review books for it.
It was written by Audrey supposedly as a metaphor to her past relationships, ( I guess most men from her love life disappears at a crucial moment), but it turned out to be a beautiful novel which could give Nicholas Sparks’ “The Notebook” a run for its money.
I need to dig into my College-”Kalat” storage box to find it, i want to read it again!
How I wish I can watch the movie with my husband..
I hope i can find time to go to the bookstore and get some new books to read, i’ve been busy painting sneakers (and saving up for our plane tickets, yay!) This week, i plan to make a Harry-Ginney pair, and a Coraline inspired designs. Based on the last 2 movies I’ve seen (and loved!).
